Ep10: When Compassion Deceives, the Truth is Prosecuted, and Faithfulness Convicts
In this week’s edition of Christianly, we look at the recent story of NBA player Jaden Ivey, who was released from the Chicago Bulls after expressing biblical convictions about what he believes the Scripture teaches about sexuality. We explore this cultural touchpoint through three lenses: what was positive in the aftermath of Ivey’s release, a deep analysis of those who spoke out against Ivey, and how this story challenges Christians to also let our light shine. In the end, we are challenged to examine whether we practice a Christianity that thrives in private but evaporates in public or one that speaks when silence would be easier. About Christianly: In a world drowning in noise, you are invited to rediscover what it means to think and live Christianly - not as passive observers but as discerning witnesses who interpret our age through the lens of God's eternal truth (1 Chronicles 12:32; Matthew 10:16). Christianly seeks to cultivate wisdom, patience, and spiritual maturity in an anxious age - to weigh the times carefully, anchor our hearts in Scripture, and engage culture with both courage and compassion, shaped by allegiance to Christ above all.
